NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:

For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, over 320 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along with organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said seven bodies arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the previous twenty-four hours: two Palestinians killed in new attacks, one who died from earlier wounds, and four whose bodies were recovered.

‘Is it safe to have a child?’: How Israel’s war is reshaping fertility, pregnancy and parenthood in Gaza: Israel’s genocide is forcing women in Gaza to rethink pregnancy and family size as displacement, hunger, trauma and healthcare collapse reshape their dreams.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

*NOTE: Meir Kahane, born Martin Kahane in Brooklyn in 1932, was an Orthodox rabbi who espoused a virulently racist ideology, founding a violent Jewish extremist movement and fascist political party (labeled terrorist organizations in the US) in Israel. Itamar Ben Gvir has been an open follower of Kahane for years – but Eliyahu appears to be even more extreme. Read more about Kahane here, and Ben Gvir here.

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

IRAN

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

Iranian forces reportedly launched a massive missile attack on US assets in Jordan early on 9 September, while also targeting multiple oil tankers as well as warships belonging to Washington.

What is Jordan’s Al-Azraq base and why is Iran targeting it?

The conflict with Iran could continue for years, senior White House advisers privately warned Trump, potentially lasting through the remainder of his term, according to a report Wednesday by The Wall Street Journal.

LEBANON

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

One person was killed Wednesday in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon, according to a medical source.

SYRIA

Syria condemns Netanyahu’s ‘illegal entry’ into occupied Syrian territory:

Syria on Wednesday condemned Israeli PM Netanyahu’s entry into occupied Syrian territory, calling the move a “provocative” violation of its sovereignty and international law. Netanyahu visited the Israeli-occupied area of Mount Hermon earlier in the day alongside Defense Minister Israel Katz. Damascus urges halt to Israeli incursions and return to 1974 disengagement deal.

During the visit, Netanyahu claimed Israel had established unprecedented “absolute control” over the area stretching from Mount Hermon toward the Yarmouk River.
