NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:
For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.
Two Gazan citizens were killed and ten others were injured over the past 24 hours, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Gaza families bury 112 people recovered nearly three years after Israeli strikes: For many in the Abu Shari’a and al-Hasayna clans, it was a moment of both relief and renewed grief after nearly 1,000 days of waiting to recover the bodies of their relatives. The strike on the Sabra neighborhood was one of the deadliest single-strike casualty events of the genocide, with more than 300 killed, including 44 children, 37 women, and more than 10 people with disabilities.
Early in the war, search-and-rescue teams lacked the heavy equipment needed for such an operation, but Civil Defense crews resumed searching the site on 14 July using limited and inadequate equipment. Officials said the force of the explosions had scattered human remains, making the recovery operation even more difficult.
At least 15,000 bodies reportedly remain buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings in the Gaza Strip.

‘Silent extermination’: Israel bombs medicine stores in Gaza, worsening the Strip’s dire healthcare crisis: An Israeli strike destroyed two major medicine warehouses in Deir al-Balah, the latest Israeli attack on Gaza’s failing health system. Gaza’s Health Ministry says medicine shortages are now killing three cancer patients a day.
“Ceasefire” May Be the Official Headline, But in Gaza, We Face Constant Bombing: Being forced to repeatedly search for a place that feels safe when no such place exists is a form of slow death.
Board of Peace* caves to Netanyahu* and rewrites Israeli withdrawal terms*** from Gaza: Board ties any Israeli withdrawal to complete disarmament by Hamas, reversing its earlier phased approach.
*NOTE: The so-called Board of Peace is a pay-to-play group of wealthy and powerful Israel supporters, dictators, and authoritarians, as well as Israeli prime minister and war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and two Israeli real estate tycoons – but no Palestinians. In fact, the organization’s charter makes no reference to Gaza.
**NOTE: As usual, Israel is stalling the ceasefire agreement by moving the goalposts in the middle of negotiations. Netanyahu has repeatedly delayed ceasefire agreements – he has said as much – Israeli media report it as well.
Hamas’ demand is merely to stick with the arrangement that both sides agreed to. The disarming of Hamas was supposed to happen in sync with Israeli withdrawal.
***NOTE: According to the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, signed by Hamas and Israel on October 9, 2025, the IDF was required to withdraw troops to specified lines and not return; all military operations were to be suspended; and Israel was to begin allowing entry of at least 600 truckloads of humanitarian aid per day.
Today, Israel has not only not withdrawn, it is holding more of Gaza than before – from 53% to approaching 70% (with possible plans for 100%); military operations have continued, with almost daily attacks and at least 1,250 Palestinians killed; and an average of about 87 truckloads of aid have entered Gaza per day.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Israel Limits Gaza Assassinations, Allows Strikes if ‘Imminent Danger’ Present: IDF’s new directive allows strikes only in cases of ‘imminent danger’ as Palestinian officials accuse Israel of blocking progress and Netanyahu says Israel will not withdraw until Hamas is disarmed.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:
It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

Israeli occupation forces burn over 120 hectares of centuries-old olive groves in south Lebanon: The occupying army has intensified the destruction of homes and agricultural fields in southern Lebanon as Beirut and Tel Aviv continue to take part in US-mediated talks.
Hafez Ghacham, mayor of Yaroun, where the arson took place, describes his village as a mixed village where both Muslims and Christians live. “The flames made no distinction between the olive groves of Christians and those of Muslims,” and the destruction affects “the whole of the South: its land, its people, its culture, its dignity and its history.”
