SUMMARY OF NETANYAHU-KUSHNER MEETING & RELATED:
The Guardian reports an Israeli official said that the talks made “no breakthrough” on the stalled Gaza deal, citing Netanyahu’s refusal to withdraw troops from the strip until Hamas disarms*, but that the meeting had been “constructive.” Here are some key takeaways (read more detail here):
Jared Kushner expressed his opposition to Israel’s continued targeted killings – while Netanyahu made clear that the killings will continue. (However, the attacks can hardly be called “targeted”: over one third of those killed since the ceasefire began, and almost half of the wounded, were children, women, and the elderly.)
Following the meeting, Kushner indicated that he had bought into Israel’s position. He said, “We have a plan to rebuild Gaza, but we will not allow Gaza to be rebuilt until the demilitarization occurs,” Kushner told Fox News in an interview. “We’re also not going to restrict Israel’s right to defend itself if there are any imminent threats**” (this opens the door for targeted killings).
Kushner stated that if Hamas doesn’t “follow through now on their commitment [to disarm*], everyone will see that they’re not genuine about peace, and then Israel will have a lot more support from the US and others to go and finish the job in the appropriate way.”
Kushner appears to have made some impact, as the Israeli army was ordered, following the meeting, not to expand the Yellow Line to take even more Palestinian territory in Gaza. This is a small consolation, as Israel has already moved the boundary beyond the ceasefire agreement terms: instead of 53%, Israel is currently holding around 70%, and Netanyahu had expressed an interest in taking over the entire territory.
Kushner’s objective, to get Israel to move toward Phase Two of the ceasefire plan, fails to address the fact that Israel has yet to fulfill its Phase One obligations: withdraw troops, suspend all military operations, allow entry of 600 truckloads of aid per day, begin rehabilitation of infrastructure, hospitals, and bakeries, and facilitate the entry of equipment to remove rubble and open roads. None of these commitments have been fulfilled.

**NOTE: Kushner’s buy-in to Israel’s unrestricted “right to defend itself” is yet another example of Israel’s self-portrayal as a perpetual victim – or potential victim – enabling it to claim “self-defense” as an excuse for taking aggressive actions against its neighbors, with no regard for others’ quality of life.
Jared Kushner also met with Hamas officials over the weekend. Regarding this meeting, Kushner said that while the group “said all the right things,” it remains difficult to trust an organization that committed “terrible atrocities*.”
*NOTE: This statement, apparently uttered un-ironically, sounds like projection: Israel often says the right things, signs agreements, then does the exact opposite. It has violated the current agreement with Hamas alone thousands of times, and has killed tens of thousands, including newborn babies. Meanwhile, Hamas has fulfilled its obligations. If any group can not be trusted, if any group has committed terrible atrocities, it is Israel.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Amid Israeli pushback, source reveals Board of Peace weighing new disarmament framework*: Official involved in talks tells ToI that US-controlled panel may abandon phased approach to Hamas weapons handover — already approved by Hamas but rejected by PM — in favor of wholesale plan.
*NOTE: When Hamas inevitably rejects this plan, they will be blamed for impeding the ceasefire, when in reality, Netanyahu rejected a plan already approved by Hamas and in line with earlier agreements.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, over 300 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along with organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.
Israeli occupation forces killed one Palestinian and wounded several others, including a child, in attacks across Gaza on Monday.
More than 2.15 million displaced Palestinians are living in desperate conditions across Gaza, with more than 867,000 sheltering in makeshift tents that are no longer fit for purpose, the Gaza Government Media Office says. More than half a million children are among those living in tents.

For the 9th consecutive day, Israeli occupiers (i.e. settlers*) continued to besiege three Palestinian homes in the northern West Bank town of Qusra, as the army extended its ongoing military operation in the area until Tuesday evening, the mayor said Monday.
*NOTE: More than 700,000 settlers live illegally on Palestinian land in over 500 Jewish-only settlements and settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.
Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.
Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.
