NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:
For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, over 345 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along with organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.
The entire staff of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, was evacuated on Monday after Israeli occupation forces advanced directly toward the hospital, amid an ongoing military escalation that is placing further pressure on the already devastated healthcare system in northern Gaza.

Palestinian couples from Gaza are forcibly separated by borders, with no reunion in sight: Families and spouses in Gaza are still waiting to be reunited with their loved ones after the Israeli army suspended travel in and out of the Strip.
They Have Multibillion-Dollar Plan for Gaza, Why Can’t They Get Wheelchair In? If the international machinery established to oversee Gaza’s transition can mobilize governments, diplomats, investors, development institutions, and billions of dollars, then it should be able to confront the obstacles preventing essential assistive equipment from reaching disabled Palestinians.
UN warns Israeli restrictions, funding gaps hamper Gaza winter preparations*: The UN said Monday that available tents and shelter materials are enough for only 50,000 households. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters, “Our humanitarian colleagues warn that funding shortfalls, as well as continued Israeli restrictions, are severely limiting preparations for the rainy season.”
*NOTE: In August 2026, the UN said Israeli authorities had twice rejected requests for delivery of nearly 37,000 pieces of timber and 660 emergency shelter kits on security grounds. OCHA warned that this would severely restrict efforts to improve makeshift shelters and carry out emergency repairs to damaged homes ahead of winter.
UNICEF estimates that nearly 84 percent of Gaza’s population, more than 1.76 million people, are living in overcrowded displacement sites or damaged and inadequate shelters, with little protection from cold, heavy rain and flooding.
UN high-level week proved Palestine cannot be ‘erased’ or ‘ignored,’ envoy says: Riyad Mansour tells Security Council international community must transition from condemnation to concrete accountability measures.
GAZA DEATH TOLL (tentative) since “ceasefire” began Oct. 11, 2025:
- 1,421 (35% of those killed, 49% of those wounded were children, women, and the elderly)
- 7 Israeli soldiers – one by friendly fire, two in an accident, and four others in incidents during the first three weeks of the ceasefire.
- More statistics below
Ultra-high-resolution imagery of Northern Gaza was briefly available to view on Israel’s GovMap website. It’s since been censored.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:
Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)
Ben-Gvir, over 1,200 Israeli occupiers (i.e. settlers) storm Al-Aqsa Mosque* as Palestinian shops forced to close for ‘Jewish prayers’: Dozens of Palestinian shopkeepers ordered to close their businesses to allow Jewish prayers during Sukkot. Videos posted by occupiers on social media showed scores of occupiers storming the flashpoint site and performing Talmudic rituals, prayers and singing.
*NOTE: Anyone can visit the Al Aqsa Mosque grounds (known to Jews as the Temple Mount) but only Muslims are allowed to pray there, according to an understanding known as the ‘status quo agreement,’ under which, since 1967, Israel has formally pledged to allow Muslims to pray at the site, while Jews pray at the Western Wall below.
In practice, however, restrictions have steadily eroded, particularly since 2023 (after extremist Itamar Ben Gvir became Minister of National Security). Israeli settlers’ actions have grown bolder and more provocative, as Israeli police have accompanied them. Often – as was the case here – Palestinian movement is restricted during these visits. Many Palestinians fear this will lead to open conflict.

ISRAELI MEDIA: About 150 Israeli Settlers Rioted in West Bank, Blocking IDF Effort to Allow Palestinians Back Home: Settlers set fire to structures and vehicles, threw stones and wounded three Israeli officers. TIMELINE – 26 years since Al-Aqsa Intifada: Key events in 5 years of bloodshed: The uprising erupted on September 28, 2000 after then-opposition leader Ariel Sharon stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem. The uprising was also referred to as the Stone Intifada and the Second Intifada (to read Hamas’ statement, commemorating the intifada and calling for solidarity during a time of “unprecedented escalation,” go here).

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:
Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Comparing Israel’s Leaders to Genghis Khan Insults the Mongols: Genghis Khan conquered brutally, but strategically. Israel’s leaders wage endless war without clear goals or the means to achieve them. The Mongols, at least, eventually made peace with their enemies.
ISRAELI MEDIA: Israel’s Law of Return Is for All Jews. Not Anymore: We seem to have updated the Declaration of Independence: Israel will be open to Jewish immigration and the ingathering of the exiles – only if they support the occupation and apartheid. In the Israel of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his extremist government, just being Jewish isn’t enough; you also have to be right-wing. If you’re not a settler, we aren’t interested (original story here).
