NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:

For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim thisthis, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.

On Saturday, the Israeli occupation army killed nine Palestinians and injured others, amid continued bombing and shelling several areas across Gaza, a day after Hamas said it agreed to the latest stage of a deal to end the war.

152 killed in Gaza in July, highest monthly death toll this year: Gaza’s Health Ministry: Ministry says victims included 21 children, 14 women and 4 elderly people.

Israeli airstrike destroys medical warehouses near hospital in central Gaza: Amid severe shortages of medicine and medical supplies, Israel hit warehouses next to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

Trump’s Board of Peace for Gaza has delivered anything but: It seems that what was presented as a grand plan for everlasting peace has dramatically shrunk to no more than a small-scale pilot scheme in the south of the Gaza Strip, which is not expected to be fully operational until the end of 2026. Despite Hamas’ recent disarmament agreement and compliance with the peace plan, Israel continues to violate the terms, showing no signs of military withdrawal and signaling that illegal Jewish settlements will soon reach Gaza.

DEATH TOLL – GAZA GENOCIDE (tentative):
  • At least 1,222 since ceasefire began Oct. 11, 2025 (247 children, 191 women)
  • 5 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began – one by friendly fire, and four others in incidents during the first three weeks of the ceasefire.
  • 73,341 killed (~22,000 children, 33,000 women and girls) since October 2023
  • More statistics below

CEASEFIRE NEWS & HEADLINES:

ISRAELI MEDIA: Source: Israel Demands Right to Strike Gaza Areas* Set for International Force: Israel told the Board of Peace it also objects to the involvement of Qatar and Turkey in verifying the emerging Gaza roadmap stages, and is demanding that Hamas’ weapons be destroyed after being confiscated, a source told Haaretz.

The Board of Peace said that Israel under the roadmap shall “fully complete, without delay, all remaining commitments” under the October cease-fire agreement, including to cease attacks on Gaza – Israel’s demand is totally incompatible with this requirement.

*NOTE: If the Board of Peace accepts Israel’s demand, it would enable Israel to continue attacking Gaza at will (likely under the guise of “self-defense” against “immediate or emerging threats,” as in the past), while Gaza would enjoy no such freedom. Israel has managed to have clauses placed in other agreements, enabling their military to operate at will, while the other side was bound by the agreement.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:

Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and thisFor information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)

ISRAELI MEDIA: They Fought Back Against Violent Settlers*. Now They’re Branded as Terrorists**: Settlers have a method: They establish an outpost, provoke Palestinians and try to provoke a violent response on the path to dispossession. That’s what happened in Tell, and the next day in the remote village of Halat al-Hams.

*NOTE: Israeli settlers – many fueled by extremism – have carried out a number of mass attacks or “pogroms.” These well-organized groups aim to destroy the West Bank economy and/or drive out the indigenous Palestinians (including Palestinian Christians). Settlers enjoy impunity – even support and assistance from the Israeli government and military – as they attack Palestinians on a daily basis. Meanwhile Palestinians are not allowed to own weapons.

**NOTE: Israel’s framing of Palestinians as terrorists is a political, not fact-based choice. Settlers’ provocation of indigenous Palestinians is part of a pattern (by individuals, groups, and even the Israeli government) of manipulating situations to make Israelis perpetual victims – or potential victims – enabling them to claim “self-defense” as an excuse for taking aggressive actions. Even Palestinian attackers, including Hamas, are exercising – albeit imperfectly – their internationally recognized right to resist their oppressor and occupier (the UN extends that right to the point of armed resistance). Calling Palestinian resistance members “terrorists” is an attempt to delegitimize the struggle of a people seeking freedom, justice, and self-determination.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas.

IRAN

UPDATE: Trump cancels planned Iran attack (full statement):

“The U.S.A. is locked and loaded and ready to go against the Islamic Republic of Iran, at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II. Despite this, we have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in that the perimeters [sic] of a deal has been agreed to. This would include the Immediate, Complete, and Total OPENING OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT, and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.

“Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL. The Country of Israel joins me in this commitment. Get to work, everybody, and get it DONE.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

ISRAELI MEDIA: ‘Risking New Yorkers’ Lives’: Israel’s President Herzog Accuses Mamdani of Antisemitism*: Speaking to Fox News, Israel’s president accused the New York mayor of ‘disrespecting the Jewish people’s right to a nation of their own,’ and urged to repair Israel’s relationship with the U.S.: ‘We both drink from the fountains of the bible.’

*NOTE: Israel partisans are quick to label speakers of inconvenient truths antisemites – then dismiss those truths. When a human rights org publishes a report stating that Israel is committing genocide or apartheid, for example, or that Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal (as Mayor Mamdani did), Israel partisans generally accuse them of spreading disinformation, being antisemitic, or using a blood libel. What the accusers do not do is engage with the facts in the report to show mistakes or lies – because the reports are legitimate and documented.

Israeli leaders and pro-Israel organizations have a long history of conflating Jews with the state of Israel – the so-called “Jewish State” – hence the antisemitism accusation against Mayor Mamdani. In reality, calling Israel “the Jewish State” erases the existence of 21% of its residents.

This indoctrination and unfair labeling has been a major factor in Israel’s achievement of almost total impunity in the global community. Palestinians and supporters of Palestinian rights have been exposing this folly for years.
