New aircraft carrier heads toward Middle East after reports of issues on long-deployed USS Lincoln

Yesterday’s newsletter reported on the terrible existence the Iran War is forcing American troops to endure in the Middle East. Things are so bad that numerous soldiers have turned suicidal, with at least one reportedly going through with hurling himself overboard.
The story centered around the USS Abraham Lincoln, the aircraft carrier that set sail from California in November and remains in the Gulf region to this day. Like how this conflict was only supposed to last a few weeks, the government said the ship would return home in May. Anyone with a clue of how Middle Eastern entanglements work knew that estimate was nonsensical. They tend to turn into forever wars, which is exactly what the neocons wanted.
Life aboard the ship is rough, reportedly highlighted by horrific food, moldy showers, broken toilets, and no toothpaste. News broke yesterday that another vessel, the USS George Washington, is on its way to the Middle East to help the Americans aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. They deserve far more than that. Donald Trump should bring them home.

Wife of Sailor Who Attempted Suicide on USS Abraham Lincoln Says Military Officials Kept Her in the Dark

The wife of the aforementioned American sailor who tried to kill himself on the USS Abraham Lincoln is accusing the Navy of attempting to cover up the ship’s egregious conditions.
Navy officials did not contact the near-widow until four days after her husband’s suicide attempt, the woman said on Thursday. She first learned about the incident from one of her spouse’s friends, not Pete Hegseth or any of the other clownish “leaders” who are having a great time accelerating the destruction of our country.
The woman also said that her husband had struggled with exhaustion and homesickness during his first deployment, but that the people atop the ship’s chain of command repeatedly brushed his concerns aside. So much for “supporting the troops.”
