Israel has for years been guilty of detention, mass incarceration, targeting one group while letting another off scot-free. But since the passage of the Nation-State Law, extremists are emboldened in a new way that eerily resembles White-Privilege-MAGA-USA. (Both Israel and the US should be disgusted by the comparison.)

Palestinian rights groups and local governments have challenged an Israeli law that seeks to the annex of parts of the West Bank. Looking back: In Israel’s 2006 war against Lebanon, Israel used cluster bombs that have a high level of failure to detonate, as well as white phosphorus which is in most cases illegal, and employed launch systems notorious for their inaccuracy. Israel claims everything was done within the bounds of international law – as Israel interprets it – and only in self-defense.
