NEWS & HEADLINES FROM GAZA:

For some basic info on the Palestine-Israel conflict, go here. For more critical context, skim this, this, and this. To read about a remarkable but underreported, 20-month-long peaceful protest in Gaza against Israel, go here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The number of Palestinians being killed in Gaza is lower since the October 2025 “ceasefire” began, over 345 days ago – about 4 per day, vs. over 100 per day during the 733 days of the “war.” But Israel is actively working (with Trump’s “Board of Peace“) to ethnically cleanse Gaza of its Palestinian population, even as the low-level killing continues. Genocide experts, along with organizations like the United Nations and Amnesty International, maintain that the genocide is ongoing.

Israeli forces killed about ten Palestinians and injured at least thirteen others, including children and displaced people, in attacks across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to medical sources and Palestinian media reports. Because several reports did not provide precise casualty numbers, the injury toll remains preliminary.

Mass Funeral Held in Central Gaza for Dozens of Palestinians Killed by Previous Israeli Attacks: More than 8,000 bodies are estimated to still be under the rubble, and the US and Israel continue to block construction equipment from entering Gaza.

New statistics on Israel’s operations since the “ceasefire” began: Israeli forces have violated the US-backed “ceasefire” in Gaza 5,147 times since it came into force on 10 October 2025, killing 1,421 Palestinians, wounding 4,983 more, and abducting 198, according to figures released by the Gaza Government Media Office on 29 September.

Of the 210,600 trucks of relief supplies and reconstruction materials due to enter under the agreement, just 72,826 have been let through – under 35%. Only 13,785 of an expected 35,000 travelers have been permitted to cross into or out of Gaza, about 39%.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM THE OCCUPIED WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM:

Every day, Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem endure dozens of incidents like the ones below, at the hands of Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. For background on the West Bank, read this and this. For information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)

Extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron* Tuesday along with hundreds of occupiers, as around 1,000 Israelis forced their way into Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem. “When I arrive at the Ibrahimi Mosque, I draw energy that makes me want to sing and rejoice,” said Ben-Gvir.

Israel announced Monday that the Ibrahimi Mosque would be closed to Muslim worshippers during Sukkot, a measure Palestinian religious leaders called “a blatant assault on the sanctity of the Ibrahimi Mosque and [violation] on freedom of worship and Muslims’ right to practice their religious rituals.”

*NOTE: Around 35,000 Palestinians live in the West Bank city of Hebron, where the Ibrahimi Mosque is located, along with about 800 illegal Jewish settlers (including Itamar Ben Gvir), who are protected and supported by 1,500 Israeli soldiers. To read more about Israeli settler violence (backed by Israeli military) in the West Bank city of Hebron, go here, and see the video below. Find more on the Ibrahimi Mosque here.

Israeli occupiers (i.e. settlers*) attack 3 West Bank villages, torch homes, vehicles: In Jalud, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank, a large group of occupiers reportedly attacked two homes belonging to the Al-Tubasi family and set them ablaze, hours after the family returned under an Israeli court decision following nearly two months of displacement.

Large Israeli army forces arrived at the scene, provided protection to the occupiers. and sent additional military reinforcements to the area, as well as forcing the family to evacuate their home again at gunpoint (backstory here).

*NOTE: More than 780,000 settlers live illegally on Palestinian land in over almost 600 Jewish-only settlements and settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Some settler groups have a history of violence against Palestinians, often with the assistance of Israeli military forces. It is noteworthy that settlers are only rarely prosecuted for their crimes. Learn more about Israeli settler violence here and here.

In a landmark advisory opinion on July 19, 2024, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian land “illegal” and demanded the evacuation of all settlements.

NEWS & HEADLINES FROM ISRAEL:

Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey, with a population smaller than the US state of Georgia – about 10 million (of which about 20 percent are Palestinians), yet it is in the news constantly. As has been demonstrated again and again, however, mainstream media rarely covers Israel news accurately. IAK gets the facts – sometimes from Israeli media sites, where we can get a glimpse inside this country that is rife with turmoil and contradictions, and that receives $63 million a day from America.

The Pardon of Elor Azaria: Killing, maiming, and culpability* in the Israeli law: Israeli courts put on a show of indicting criminals who kill and maim Palestinians, but the final verdict — a presidential pardon and a hero’s welcome — is already predetermined (read Elor Azaria’s backstory here; see how the Israeli public reveres him here and here).

*NOTE: Israel’s self-investigations – on the rare occasions when they do take place – consistently whitewash its crimes and fail to appropriately punish the perpetrators (as in Elor Azaria’s case) and tend to focus on individuals and individual incidents, ignoring the dangerous, far-reaching policies and assumptions rampant in Israeli thinking: impunity, lethality, and dehumanization.

Human rights groups have documented Israel’s lack of integrity when reporting on its own behavior toward Palestinians. Israeli sources, including the government itself, have a long track record of lying.

IRAN, LEBANON, & SYRIA – NEWS & HEADLINES:

IRAN

It can not be overemphasized that Israel is the impetus behind US policies and actions vis-a-vis Iran. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has been pushing the US to attack Iran for decades, using lies and deception. Under President Trump, he got his wish.

‘Distance yourselves from Israel’: IRGC letter urges US population to question gov’t policies: The letter explains the IRGC’s worldview and what it sees as commonalities between Iranians and the American people – and answers the question, Why do Iranians chant “death to America”?

LEBANON

Israel has invaded Lebanon seven times in the last half century. Between 1978 and 2000, Israel maintained an 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon — Hezbollah was formed to fight that occupation.

Israel obliterates south Lebanon’s architectural heritage: Israeli bombardments have systematically destroyed over 147 historic homes in Nabatieh, including those belonging to prominent political families, significantly impacting the region’s architectural heritage.

SYRIA

Although Israel is not at war with Syria, the Israeli army has reportedly carried out over 1,600 violations inside Syrian territory since August 2025, and demanded the demilitarization of southern Syria – but also vowed to permanently occupy some areas. Some analysts theorize that Israel’s actions in Syria are an attempt to provoke Syria or Turkey into war.

DEATH TOLL – WARS ON IRAN & LEBANON (tentative):
  • United States: 22 since Feb. 28, 2026 (the Trump admin denies this number)
  • Iran: at least 3,636 since Feb. 28, 2026
  • Lebanon: at least 4,386 people since March 2, 2026
  • Arab states: at least 154 (including Palestine, excluding Lebanon)
  • Israel: at least 60 people (Iran killed 20 civilians; Hezbollah killed 40 soldiers, 4 civilians)

MORE NEWS & HEADLINES:

US Senate blocks resolution demanding accountability over Israeli violence in West Bank: The US Senate on Tuesday rejected along mostly party lines a resolution that would have forced the state department to report to Congress on violence in the occupied West Bank, including the killings of nine American citizens by Israeli settlers or security forces over the last few years.

Though the resolution ultimately failed by a vote of 47-51, the vote count is nonetheless yet another sign of congressional Democrats’ rapid movement on questions regarding the U.S.-Israel relationship*. When Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) introduced similar legislation in January 2024, it failed by a vote of 72-11.

*NOTE: For years, the pro-Israel lobby has had a tight grip on Congress and Western mainstream media. The most powerful lobbying group is AIPAC, the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, which by law should be registered as a foreign agent. AIPAC is on a mission to keep Congress filled with the best pro-Israel legislators that money can buy. The group “babysits” each Congress member that has accepted AIPAC donations, to make sure they vote for any bill that helps Israel.

Public opinion in the U.S. is shifting away from support for Israel, and the change is finally seeping into Congress, as politicians are beginning to listen to their constituents instead of their babysitter.
