The event will feature Biden, along with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), and costs $500,000 per person… Saban is an Israeli-American billionaire who has stated: “I’m a one-issue guy, and my issue is Israel.”
Saban is close to Jared Kushner and helped broker the deal between the UAE and Israel… (Meanwhile, Sheldon Adelson, another pro-Israel billionaire, is funding Donald Trump and Republicans)
Phil Weiss reports that pro-Israel advocates are overjoyed at the prospect of Joe Biden… they say there has never been a nominee from any party who is so pro-Israel, and that his choice of Kamala Harris as veep reflects his love of Israel…
The Republican National Committee platform of 2016, resurrected for 2020, will once again genuflect before Israel – ignoring the realities of human rights, international law, and logic.
Apparently only 2 of Biden’s VP candidates to have publicly shown any real concern for justice for Palestinians. The rest have only paid lip service…like Biden himself.
Palestinian rights are becoming mainstream, and support for Israel is declining – especially among Democrats. But you’d never guess it from the Democratic Party platform. (If you’re not happy with this, there’s a place you can upload a short video telling the DNC what you want the platform to contain…)
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports that Jewish groups from both parties are using millions of dollars to get out their vote, & to promote candidates who will support Israel… “We will be on TV, we will be in the mail, we will be on the telephone, we will be digital. We will be in every form of communication known to human beings.”
Phil Giraldi reports that Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Andrew Cuomo, Nancy Pelosi, & the Congressional Black Caucas (also in the Israel lobby’s pocket) had endorsed Engel, but Jamaal Bowman won… as did Ocasio-Cortez… It’s early days to be hopeful, but the NY primary election results, from a state where Jewish groups wield enormous power, just might be an indication that some things are about to change…
While progressive candidates are largely focusing on domestic issues, six have promoted even-handed policies on Palestine – in Maryland, New York, Missouri, New Jersey, and even in San Francisco, where Shahid Buttar is challenging House Speaker (and longtime Israel apologist) Nancy Pelosi…
Despite so many Israeli dreams coming true under a Republican president, the Israel lobby remained staunch Democratic contributors.
Is there any hope that a Biden administration would break with the candidate’s half-century record of “unstinting support for Israel” despite its decades or human rights violations? It’s highly unlikely, unless his previous rhetoric has just been a shtick to be discarded when needed.
